Are Name, Fame, and Money Your Goals?

Are Name, Fame, and Money Really Your Goals – or Just the Outcome?

Recently, during a session, a client said something that made me pause.

“I want name, fame, and money.”
He added confidently, “I have the skills. I can work in any field.”

On the surface, this looked like clarity. But as he spoke, something deeper became visible — a pattern I see often.

Name, fame, and money sound like goals.
But what if they are not goals at all?
What if they’re simply the results of something far more meaningful?

Looking Beneath the Surface

Let’s break it down gently:

Name → Recognition of your unique value
Fame → Reputation built through consistency
Money → Reward for the value you create

These are not individual goals to chase.
They are by-products.

And when we chase outcomes instead of a process, we often end up directionless, insecure, or overwhelmed. This is where the shift begins.

The Real Questions to Ask Yourself

Most people ask:

“How do I get name, fame, and money?”

But the more powerful questions are:

What process am I willing to commit to?
What level of excellence do I bring to my work?
What value am I creating that naturally attracts these things?
How strong is my conviction in my abilities?

Because the truth is simple:
Outcomes depend on the world.
Process depends on you.

When you align with process:

  • You stay focused
  • You remain consistent
  • You grow in skill, confidence, and clarity
  • You create value that becomes impossible to ignore

This is how name, fame, and money begin to follow — quietly, steadily, organically.

A Gentle Reframe for 2026

As we move into the next year, many people are reassessing what they really want.

You might be, too.

So, take a moment and ask yourself:

→ Where am I in defining my goals?
→ Am I chasing outcomes or building processes?
→ Why is this goal important to me?
→ What happens if I don’t achieve this outcome…would I still grow through the process?

We often forget:
The process is where we evolve.
The outcome is just evidence of that evolution.

The Coaching Perspective

In coaching, we explore:

  • What you truly value
  • What drives your need for recognition
  • What strengths you’re underusing
  • What process supports the person you want to become

There’s no right or wrong goal.
There’s only what’s appropriate for you…your season, your pace, your purpose.

When my client spoke about name, fame, and money, what he really wanted was:

  • To be seen
  • To be respected
  • To be rewarded
  • To feel aligned with his abilities

And these desires didn’t need judgment, only clarity.

Through exploration, he realized that what he needed wasn’t a “bigger goal,” but a more intentional process.

Your Invitation

We still have time; months, weeks, days…to reflect before stepping into another year.

Let this be a moment of gentleness and honesty.

Ask yourself:

  • What do I want to build?
  • What am I becoming through my process?
  • What value am I preparing to offer the world?

You don’t have to force outcomes.
You only need to nurture the process that leads you there.

Where Are You in Your Journey?

Name, fame, and money may be part of your path…but they don’t have to be the destination.

Maybe what you need this year is not a bigger dream, but a deeper alignment.
Not louder ambition, but clearer intention.

I’ll be sharing more reflections as we move toward 2026.

Where are you in your journey?
